How to crack a crab, while my dog watches

And indeed there will be time
For the yellow smoke that slides along the street,
Rubbing its back upon the window panes;
There will be time, there will be time
To prepare a face to meet the faces that you meet;
There will be time to murder and create,
And time for all the works and days of hands
That lift and drop a question on your plate;
Time for you and time for me,
And time yet for a hundred indecisions,
And for a hundred visions and revisions,
Before the taking of a toast and tea.

In the room the women come and go
Talking of Michelangelo.

The Love song of J. Alfred Prufrock; T. S. Eliot

On cool nights travelling on the bus, the orange lights brightening and darkening as the bus rolls past, I will think of this poem — the yellow smoke that slides along the street/rubbing its back upon the window panes; in the room the women come and go/talking of Michelangelo.

As reunions with friends went, this one was peppered with reminiscing — remember the girls weixiong kept in his basement, etc — mixed with the usual cs2020 humour, that is, extension of a topic way past its ordinary expiry date. “I have a headache from sitting in the air-con room without drying my hair,” Wenbin says, “I like to think that there’s a rock band inside my head.” “Did the rock band cause the headache?” John asks. “It’s a chicken and egg problem,” Rose Marie continues. “What band is playing?” I inquire. “I think it’s Laurence and the Leaky Machine,” Wenbin helpfully replies. “You have the power to stop the concert, ” I try to help. “The concert doesn’t end until midnight. ” Wenbin, evidently a champion of fairness to concert-goers, does not exercise his rights. “And don’t forget… THE AFTER-PARTY!” “And the hangover the day after?” “If there is a hangover inside his head, does that make it a headaception?” This prompted some deep introspection within us, after the previous philosophical question of headache or rock concert first.
